Pastoral ministry research paper released
In 2014 the College of Bishops commissioned Australian Lutheran Institute for Theology and Ethics (ALITE) to undertake a research project on the Pastoral Ministry in the LCA to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the LCA. The study was undertaken with the generous support of the LLL, with funds specifically set aside for 50th Anniversary projects in the LCA.
The study was composed of five main areas: (1) the nature and tasks of pastoral ministry in the LCA, (2) clergy well-being, (3) LCA clergy and ministry with and to Lutheran schools, (4) the initial training and ongoing professional development of clergy, and (5) pastoral oversight and management. The College of Bishops and other key decision-makers in the LCA are using the outcomes of the study to make informed decisions about the pastoral ministry in the LCA. The research paper is available to the wider church for information. Click to download.
