 Lutheran Women of Australia

Women loved by God sharing this love with others

Lutheran Women of Australia (LWA), an auxiliary of the LCA, is an association of Lutheran women who aim to encourage a deeper consecration and a greater service to Christ and his church (in particular through the study of the Scriptures), to coordinate and give impetus to the work of the women of the LCA and to foster the bond of Christian fellowship among the women of our church.

If you wish to become involved in

  • Bible study
  • service
  • fellowship

LWA can help you.

About us

LWA is the national body of the women who make up five districts. The districts are New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia/Northern Territory, Victoria/Tasmania and Western Australia.

The districts in turn are made up of the women’s groups from the local congregations or parishes within each district, and individual members.

Conventions

Each district meets annually in Convention, except Queensland which meets biennially.

The LWA (or National) Convention is held in conjunction with, and just prior to, the General Convention of the Lutheran Church of Australia. This is usually a triennial event.

Service

LWA members are encouraged to put their faith into action by supporting various service projects on a local, district and national level.
