Look at me
God is not unfair. He will not forget the work you did or the love you showed for him in the help you gave and are still giving to other Christians. Our great desire is that each of you keep up your eagerness to the end, so that the things you hope for will come true. (verses 10,11)
Read Hebrews 6:1-12
Do you ever wish someone would notice all the good things you do every day? It seems as if everyone notices the bad things. It feels unjust and doesn’t seem fair. Your feelings about this can grow to the point that you begin to think, ‘Why bother at all?’
The author of the letter to the Hebrews knows this feeling, and he wants you to remember that even if no-one else notices what you are doing, God does. I like those first four words: ‘God is not unfair’. He notices and will reward your faithfulness, your love. So don’t give up. Hold on to this truth that God knows and that one day everything you are hoping for will come true.
Lord God, help me to love and serve others as Jesus did. Amen.
