How We Serve
Like Christians all over the world, we Lutherans are motivated to serve others because Christ first served us: 'For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many' (Mark 10:45).
We believe that Jesus is the Light of the World, and so we want to bring that light into the lives of as possible people as we can, whether they are members of our church or not. We believe that people will most easily see the light of Christ as we serve them, because that's what he did for his disciples: got down on his knees and washed their feet.
We're by no means perfect, and we don't pretend to be perfect, so if we've ever failed you, we ask for your forgiveness and the chance to start over with you.
The pages in this section of our website explain the myriad ways the Lutheran Church of Australia (LCA) serves its members and the wider community in the name of Jesus Christ. If you don't find what you're looking for here, please contact your local Lutheran church by using the Find a Church facility.
