Church Worker Training
Australian Lutheran College (ALC) is shaping tomorrow’s pastors, teachers and church workers who will think imaginatively about issues that affect all of life in the church and the world. They are learning to think faithfully and critically about life and faith in the light of biblical and church teaching, and be effective spiritual leaders, educators and workers who bring life and renewal in the church and communities they serve.
The School of Theological Studies offers Higher Education awards and VET qualifications in theology and ministry. These can be undertaken by lay workers seeking accreditation, those who want to obtain an award or qualification for personal reasons, and people who want to attend units, subjects, or workshops without assessment or credit. Grassroots Training offers a range of workshops, group studies and personal development sessions for congregational leaders and for lay people of all walks of life who simply want to learn and grow in Christian knowledge and better equip themselves for Christian ministry and service.
The School of Educational Theology provides specialised education and theological training for teachers and those becoming teachers.
The School of Pastoral Theology provides theological and formational training for those becoming pastors of the LCA. ALC is the post-secondary education provider of the LCA based in North Adelaide, South Australia. It provides distributed learning throughout the districts and regions of the church. Within Melanesia and South-East Asia ALC is well regarded, and it partners with a number of Lutheran churches in the region to assist in in the post graduate education of pastors and lay workers.
Australian Lutheran College produces a periodical called Saints Alive.
