Home Missions

Home Mission is an area of ministry that promotes the mission of the church in Australia and New Zealand by

• Studying effective mission approaches in our own church and other churches
• Understanding our culture and how best to communicate the gospel within this context
• Assisting with the resourcing of congregations for mission
• Providing training opportunities
• Evaluating applications for funding projects
• Making recommendations to the General Church Council

Home mission projects have included:

• Arranging conferences and seminars
• Production of a video "It is Happening"
• Development of a broad policy for ministry to Asians living in Australia
• Active support burgeoning ministries
• Implementation of "Our Church in Mission"
