Chaplaincies
The Lutheran Church of Australia has many people (both ordained and laity) serving as full time or part time chaplains. They might be found in the following places:
Aged Care
- retirement services, independent living centres, home care, nursing homes, respite care centres, hospitals, hostels, veteran’s homes, dementia care, etc
Correctional Services
- women’s and men’s prisons, remand centres, low security centres, prison farms, etc.
Defence Forces
Hospitals
- both public and private, clinics, hospices, repatriation centres, recuperative care, psychiatric treatment, centres for the intellectually disabled, etc
Industry
- Inter-Church Trade and Industry Mission (Australia) Ltd is a cooperative ministry venture of Christian churches in Australia. They provide programs and services for individuals and organisations in the work community. ITIM is contracted by work organisations to provide a wide range of pastoral care, counselling, training and consultancy services.
Schools
- both public and private, secondary and primary, universities and colleges of further education, etc
